A large canvas, unusual for Burnett Hood, with warm colours and the feel of a hazy summer's day. 
 
Ernest Burnett Hood was born in Edinburgh and studied and taught at Glasgow School of Art, becoming a keen and lifelong member of the Glasgow Art Club. He painted in oil and watercolour and his oeuvre is varied, encompassing industrial scenes, landscapes, still lifes, city streets and the occasional portrait.
