Borders based artist Caroline Hepburne-Scott has returned to her roots after a few years living in west coast Canada with a selection of detailed birdlife and botanical drawings.
 
Caroline explains; ‘The natural world offers endless inspiration, from intricate structures to wide spaces and large forms. Character is found in the trees as much as the animals that live in them. Drawing has always been the base for my work; strength of line and mark making, using space to create setting and atmosphere. It is a simple, straightforward approach to things we often overlook’. 
 
Caroline studied at Edinburgh College of Art and subsequently spent a year at Cyprus College of Art obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art. Caroline has taken part in several group and solo exhibitions around the U.K. and undertaken many private commissions. She is also an accomplished portrait artist.
